Before reading this, you might want to read:
No matter how cleanly styled an InDesign file is, InDesign has an inexplicable tendency to apply overrides at the paragraph, character and object style level. These should definitely be cleaned up. Whatever text editor you use will have some version of regular expressions search (aka RegEx). Leverage that to clear out overrides with a quick find/replace. To do that find an override in your document, copy it and the space before, then search for that string globally. In oXygen, a right click on the HTML files will enable global search and replace. Replace the number with a backslash-lower case-d so that the software finds all instances of that string with any digit.
Sidebar: a little RegEx knowledge goes a long way. If you’ve never spent time using it, consider doing a tutorial. It’s the same thing as InDesign’s GREP find/replace.Fix up the HTML. Nest <figcaption> tags in the <figure> tags. Migrate any remaining <div> tags to more meaningful HTML.
