Comparing epub versions thread

Is there a simple way to compare two versions of the same ebook? I have inadvertently ended up with two different sets of minor corrections made to an epub, and I was hoping that there was some way to compare the two versions (something like Word’s Compare Documents feature?) so that I could consolidate the changes into one file. Thanks!

Lol. The number of times I’ve done this… 🙂

If you are on a Mac ( I am sure there must be a Windows equivalent) decompress the files using eCanCrusher. Then download BBEdit (free) https://www.barebones.com/products/bbedit/ and use the Search >Find Differences to select each folder. It will show all the differences in each file, line by line.

Hope this helps.

Thank you, BTK!

Confirming that eCanCrusher works on Windows as well–download here: https://www.docdataflow.com/ecancrusher/

Thanks so much, BTK and APLN Mod! I’m on Windows, so I’ll give that a shot. Glad to know that there is a way. 🙂
