WCAG 2.2 Level AA success criterion 2.5.8: Target Size (minimum) thread

Hello!

I’m QAing one of our new EPUBs with the new WCAG 2.2 AA specs, and have a question about Target Size (minimum).

This blog post on inclusivepublishing.org says that this criterion will affect things like tables of contents and indexes. But this WCAG description has an “equivalent” exception that seems to suggest (unless I’m misunderstanding‚Ķ), if the text can be reflowed/adjusted to meet this requirement, it doesn’t apply.

Does anyone know if/how this will affect relatively simple EPUBs and their TOCs and indexes? If it does, do you know any coding solutions that will meet this criterion?

Interesting question! I think this applies more to website icons and rigid interactive elements rather than reflowable EPUBs–where I don’t believe this would be an issue if the spacing and text size can be changed for indexes and TOCs.
