Introduction
The new release of the Digital Publishing – Accessibility Metadata Crosswalk was published on March 26, 2026. The release includes expanded mappings for WCAG 2.1 and 2.2 at Levels A, AA, and AAA, along with new guidance on bidirectional mapping. Definitions for accessMode and accessModeSufficient have been updated to align with the latest Schema.org vocabulary.
Accessibility metadata only helps readers when it remains accurate and discoverable throughout the publishing workflow. If you work with accessibility metadata, this crosswalk is a useful resource for understanding how accessibility information can be preserved and translated across publishing formats and workflows.
